For the dev's on things I've noticed. Want a greater player base ? Isolate 1.0 sec for those who are potential subscribers or at least take the greater time for those rookies to 'learn' and be 'educated' in rookie chat about the full mechanics *meaning the pirate based playing of the game. I'll explain after I tell you about what I've seen plenty in 'high' sec.
1. I've seen pirate corps deliberately hunt not only 'NPC' based rookies in trial accounts but also those new 'subscribed' rookie player corps in order to teach them a 'lesson'. 2. I watched a 'pirate' with a - sec status sit in Kisogo and tank as well as destroy a multitude of Caldari police and have the option to dock, supplying those 'trial' accounts with items 'loot' that is from wrecks. *For one if they are recruiting rookies, awsome !! and good idea, but again, NOT !!! Personally I think it's bullcrap that this person could tank the Caldari police, while Concord sat and did nothing, and hand out all those goodies to the rookies... but then again it is a good opportunity for that person to get or earn 'potential' recruits too...it's hard to disagree with such an unbalanced way when I admire that person for being able to do that... lol
Take the time with ISD, and those GM's that would volunteer in 'rookie' chat to explain the full mechanics of a pirate based / player based game like this one. No one told me I could be fair targets to anything I've done until it happened. Face it gentlemen I did learn the 'hard' way. Then most seemed to laugh or not give a crap about such things. I was tempted to quit....Funny thing is just the other day someone said something to me that suprised me, know what they said ? I am amazed your still here, most quit long before this... and that's all they said to me.
If the game becomes too unballanced then what will happen ? If you have only a 'stagnation' of long timers who think they know best how many will want to join ? If there are too many corps that think it best to 'teach' the rookie the hard way, who's chasing away the potential subscribers ? If you have players wanting more players in low sec, then give those 'rookies' the opportunity to understand what's at stake.
Just a thought for the dev's, not meant to be really debated ;-). But then again it may be too difficult to totally isolate 1.0 and not a good idea if so, something needs to change, not everyone is a pirate 'completely' at heart ;-)...sighs and I'm sure there are plenty that will debate this too.
For those of you who 'think' I'm a carebear or whining actually I'm not, just looking for some decent balance and a better understanding for those 'rookies' that could become a part of YOUR corps. If you take away subscribers, you stagnate the game.
